Employment History

October 2001 to present: Self-employed: Sales, Marketing and Business Development Services

Since October 2001, Ian has been self-employed working through his own business, Mole and Honey Associates. The company provides services for small to medium sized businesses either in an advisory capacity or by “hands-on” application

A common theme has been working closely with clients for a limited time period in turnaround or critical development phases, introducing skills and systems which can then be carried forward by the business.

 

April 2001 – August 2001: Associate Director of European Operations: ContentGuard Inc. (Internet content service provider)

Ian was invited to join ContentGuard, an American start-up business, to set-up the European operation After just four months, two major contracts were agreed and ready for signing; two more final proposals verbally accepted and a very strong pipeline established.

 

1999 – 2001: Book Publishing Consultant: Xerox (UK) Ltd, Graphic Arts Sector (Digital Services)

The essential function of the role was to provide a consultative sales approach at strategic level to aid key businesses to move from a conventional business model to print-on-demand and/or e-business. With a sales target of $5m for 2000, the full year closed with 125% ($6.25m) of target achieved.

 

1995 – 1999: Marketing Manager (‘95–‘96), Sales Director (‘96-‘99): Antony Rowe Ltd (Printers)

On a like-for-like basis, the turnover of the company rose from approx. $6.5m to $10.8m whilst Ian was responsible for sales and marketing activity.

 

1988 – 1995: Sales Executive (‘88–‘93), Page Bros (Norwich) Ltd (Printers)

During the 4/5 years in sales, Ian achieved maximum sales bonus every year except one.
